The Learning Process
This Course adopts an online self-regulated asynchronous approach to teaching and learning. 6 Units are completed asynchronously on a VLE.
The course is made up of 6 units. Each unit is made up of 10 Sections. Each section comprises a series of tasks. Every learner can follow the course at their own pace. Tasks build on one another. Each unit is made up of a series of tasks and addresses a different theme.
Assessment
Forum Posts carry 20% of the global mark.
The post captures the work that students are assigned as well as a range of cognitive and transferable skills. Each section requires a post of at least 200 words long. There is 1 post for each one of the 6 units.
Online Multiped Choice Tests carry 30% of the global mark for each one of the 6 units. Multiple-choice tests are completed online via Moodle. Each test will consist of 10 MCQs having 3 possible answers with one correct answer. The grade is issued automatically and instantly, as the learner completes the assessment. Each section requires a pass in an MCQ test. There are, 6 Quizzes in all, one for each unit.
Each unit also includes a written task that is awarded 50% of the marks for the respective unit.
The certificate is awarded to those students who complete all 3 assessment tasks of each one of the 6 units. That is, they upload 6 good-quality online forum posts through which they answer the assigned question adequately, they successfully pass the 6 quizzes and they upload 6 essays, one per module.
